How To Wear Snakeskin Wedges

06May10

Snakeskin wedges are perfect for spring and summer because they can be dressed up or down depending on what you pair them with. For work, make sure to pair them with a demure hemline, but for the weekends, these will look adorable with walking shorts or short jersey dresses. Choose a wooden heel as opposed to an espadrille wedge as a woven espadrille look is just too casual and not as versatile (and they get dirty and wear down faster too). Look for 2 1/2 – 4 inch heel as they will be the most flattering height-wise and the most manageable for walking. So, what to wear them with?

Chic Skirt: Wear wedges to work paired with an a-line skirt and chic white shirt. Add a blazer to keep the look professional and pulled together. Choose a pair of wedges that aren’t too stappy – t-strap or peep toe work best for the office.

Shorts
: For weekend wear, wedges look great paired with shorts (walking or short shorts). When pairing them with shorts, the most important thing is balancing the look. So, if you choose short shorts, then choose a top that is loose and blousey (no little tanks!) and add a printed scarf for a bit of color.

Jersey Dresses:
Because jersey dresses are by casual by nature (they are cotton after all), they usually look great with flip flops for the beach. To dress them up a bit, pair them with a snakeskin wedge and add gold accessories (bangles, earrings, chunky rings). You will feel instantly more dressed and ready for a night on the town.

Boyfriend Jeans: Slouchy rolled boyfriend jeans, paired with a simple top and wedges, are perfect for a Saturday afternoon. Similar to finding balance when wearing short shorts, boyfriend jeans look best when paired on top with something fitted like a camping shirt, a la Kate Hudson.
